Why today was wonderful:
(I could do this every day- I can always think of so many things at the end of the day that were wonderful .)
I1- I got to sit in the sun with Kiki, my landlord’s girlfriend and she told me about being in Maine, and told me about artists who do a circuit there, along the coast where there are shows all through the summer and I thought that could be really fun. I’ve never seen Maine, and maybe that would be a way I could do it.
2- I got to teach a bridal shower at Paint and Mingle, but it wasn’t really like a shower. The bride to be, who was in her late fifties, had planned it and brought her co-workers who were Federal employees -caretakers of the Blue Ridge parkway. It was just a pleasure to lead them through painting the parkway, and like always, everyone did a great job. They were just plain ol’ nice people, the kind of people who are just good to be around. And they brought good food- one dish was called chocolate lasagna, you can just imagine…
3-I painted flowers on a vase and a pitcher. I hadn’t known what to do with these pieces for a long time. I knew that eventually I would know what to do, and I finally did- I had some flowers that Pearl had brought me and they modeled for me. Since Christmas, so that is 4 months, I have gotten comfortable with clay and even somewhat with glazing. I have fired several loads and really do have a feel for it now. I was so anxious to get to this place, and now I am here, yay.
